STATEMENT MADE
The ACC made a statement this weekend with Clemson’s win over Georgia and Florida State’s dismantling of Pittsburgh. Here is a list of the a few memorable moments from these contests :
Clemson
- Clemson’s bus ride to Howards Rock on ABC: I though it was awesome to see the players in full uniform, helmets on and everything, in busses driving around the stadium towards Howard’s Rock. There is nothing like the traditions of college football.
- Clemson’s defensive line pushing Georgia’s offensive line in the 3rd and 4th quarters. I’ve been told by the media pundits at the four letter network that SEC teams wear their opponents down in the trenches, especially in the 2nd half. Well, Clemson was stronger and more physical as the game progressed.
FSU
- JAMEIS WINSTON ARRIVES: completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, incompletion (bad call), completion, completion, completion, completion, completion, completion = 240 Yards, 2 TDs and a rushing TD in the 1st Half
- Kevin Durant notices the moment on Twitter
- ESPN’s Jesse Palmer dumbfounded and star struck by the Winston performance and at a loss for words to describe how a freshman quarterback in his first game could pull off the best game of the opening weekend.
The ACC made a memorable statement in the opening weekend. With expected wins over the next few weeks against inferior competition the Tigers and Noles should continue to dominate the headlines. Welcome to the big time-ACC, it has been a long time in waiting.
