Went with BC for the upset in the EDSBS stupid upset picks game. Sigh.
After watching the movie, The Replacements, tonight (which from Twitter it appears that Brent Axe was doing as well) it made me wonder…if I had to put together a fictional fantasy team, consisting entirely of players from movies/tv…who would I pick?
My thoughts so far:
QB: Boomhauer (King of the Hill)
RB: Al Bundy (Married with Children)
WR: Rod Tidwell (Jerry Maguire)
D/ST: Bobby Boucher (Waterboy)
K: Lucy Draper (Necessary Roughness)
There was a lot of negativity from certain SU fans about scheduling Central Michigan – particularly that there was no benefit/not a recruiting area, etc… Looking at the roster, there are 11 players that come from an area about 4 hours from Pleasant Valley, and will be closer to home than in Syracuse, so realistically could have family/friends at the game today. That can mean a lot to players.
Eric Crume already tweeted his excitement to play in his home state of Michigan, and I expect that Ron Thompson is also excited. Plus you have several guys from Illinois and Ohio.
Good on SU for scheduling this game. Go Orange!
