ACC + AAC = DC

Just when Syracuse and Pitt thought they finally had enough of their old conference-mates, the Atlantic Coast Conference and the American Aresco Athletic Conference have agreed to a six-year deal to play each other in the Military Bowl starting in 2014.

Brett McMurphy is reporting that the game will continue to be held at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD, and is expected pit the American’s third through sixth picks and the ACC’s seventh through 10th selections.

Navy is scheduled to join the American in 2015.

The ACC response is pretty “meh” since they will simply be replacing a team from Conference USA or one of the service academies for a team from the American.

But for the American, it’s a much needed move. The fledgling conference has lost multiple bowl tie-ins since the defection of the non-football teams and losing the Big East name, notably the Russell Athletic Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, and Belk Bowl.

  1. If ACC + AAC = DC

    then

    AC + AA = D

    then

    C + A= D/A

    then

    C= D/A -A

    Finally, algebra making a difference.
