The Confidential’s ACC Football Top 10 Poll: Week 12

With just a few weeks, the ACC picture is starting to take shape.  A few teams are out of the bowl picture.  Several are locked-in.  But how do they rank?   Here is the Confidential Correspondents Football top 10 Poll for Week 12.  Remember, we include Notre Dame and Louisville.  This week, we’ll start with team number #1 and work our way down to #10–where it gets murkier.

ACC Bowl Picture: A case for 11 teams (Part 2)

Last week, we looked at some of the scenarios that could play out to get 11 ACC teams in postseason play. And so far, the plan is coming to fruition.

With week 12 in the books, two more teams have clinched bowl eligibility bringing the total number of teams that will go bowling up to 8, with three more that are still fighting for the requisite six wins. Read more…

National Signing Day

Today coaches all across the college basketball universe will be hovered over their fax machines waiting in anticipation for their letters of intent. After all the time they have spent recruiting they will get to see the fruit of their labor. Some will fill their scholarships while others will continue the process during the spring signing period. The fall signing period should be busy for the Louisville Cardinals and their ACC brothern.

The Confidential’s ACC Football Top 10 Poll: Week 11

There are now a clear #1 and #2 in the ACC right now, as all five voting correspondents this week went with FSU and Clemson.  But what about the other slots?  Amazingly, Syracuse won on the road, but was dropped from its tie–as the Pitt win over ND propelled them up the voting charts.  Anyway, here is the Confidential Correspondents Football top 10 Poll for Week 11.  Remember, we include Notre Dame and Louisville.  This year, we’ll start with team number 10 and work our way to #1.

UPDATE: Louisville to ACC in 2014 not a “done deal”?

Talk around Louisville this week has centered around University of Louisville President Dr. James Ramsey comments from a radio show recently. He was answering questions regarding the Cardinals move to the ACC. His response led to talk radio and message board panic.

Wolfpack Opener: Promise at the Point

NC State opened the 2013-14 basketball campaign Friday night with a 98-77 rout of Appalachian State.  The Pack had two 20-point scorers, TJ Warren with 27 and Desmond Lee with 24.

Warren also had 8 boards, while freshman Lennard Freeman added 6 in 19 minutes, hopefully earning more playing time next game.

But the takeaway from this game might be the play from the point.

2013-2014 ACC Basketball Preview: Ranking the Teams

Amazingly, another college basketball season is upon us.  This year, the ACC is joined by Syracuse, Pittsburgh, and Notre Dame.  Next year, Louisville replaces Maryland.  So we have 16 teams to rank!  And here is how they stack up:

The Confidential’s ACC Football Top 10 Poll: Week 9

So much for October, it is now November and the Florida State-Clemson game of the week is a distant memory, as Florida State-Miami will be the contest everyone is still talking about.  With two 7-0 teams, it certainly should be.  Someone gets a huge strength of schedule boost with win.  Even the standings are starting to settle in the top 6.  We’ll see who is #1 next week.  Here is the Confidential Correspondents Football top 10 Poll for Week 9.  Remember, we include Notre Dame and Louisville.  This year, we’ll start with team number 10 and work our way to #1.

FANT-A.C.C. FOOTBALL UPDATE

As you may recall, the Confidential delved into fantasy football this year.  Specifically, the Confidential started a survivor pool including the 14 A.C.C. teams, as well as Louisville & Notre Dame.  After 9 weeks, only 13 teams are left.  Here are the current standings:
