Congratulations to the Syracuse Orange for being the first school since 2010-2011 (conference-mate Duke) to be a unanimous #1. Equally impressive is rebounding from an emotional and hard-fought win over Duke to beat a desperate Notre Dame team last night to improve to 22-0. Trevor Conney led the way with 33 points for the Orange. Every game, someone else steps up for Syracuse.
It was the only action in the ACC last night.
Looking forward, there are possible bumps in the road for Syracuse:
Actually, Syracuse’s schedule is heavily weighted towards road games at the end… four of the final five.
What do you think? Will Syracuse lose again during the regular season? If so, when?
The North Carolina Tar Heels have had a well documented series of academic failures and other scandals recently. What is your opinion on whether the NCAA has been sufficiently strict with the Tar Heels to date?

The Confidential was started shortly after the ACC announced plans to add Syracuse and Pittsburgh. From day one, the Confidential approached the ACC as the then-current teams, plus Syracuse and Pittsburgh. Our rankings reflected 14 teams.
Now, of course, Syracuse and Pitt are officially part of the ACC. But then Maryland will soon be replaced by Louisville. And whither Notre Dame, with its 5-game football schedule preventing full membership.
What is your opinion as to the simple question–as of today, who do YOU consider to be part of the ACC?
Thanks for sharing.
It is a Sunday in July. Basketball is a distant memory. Baseball and lacrosse are over. The Grant of Rights has expansion talk limited to the Big 10 imperialists. Football is close, but perhaps not close enough. So let’s change that with a poll. Who do you think is winning the ACC this year? Schools are shown randomly. Do not forget to comment below as to why someone is going to win…
