Notre Dame Football: The Over/Under

This article is the next in a series of articles in which the Confidential selects the over/under for football wins in 2014.  We’ll take a cursory look at the schedule and determine what we think is the point where folks will struggle to select “over” or “under.”  We hope people will share their comments as to “why” they are going over/under.  If you disagree with our over/under choice, of course, feel free to let us know too.  The third team up: Notre Dame.  We are going with an over/under of 8.5.

9/6/14:  Michigan

9/13/14:  Purdue (in Indianapolis)

9/27/14:  Syracuse (in East Rutherford)

10/4/14: Stanford

10/11/14:  North Carolina

10/18/14: @ Florida State

11/1/14:  Navy

11/8/14: @ Arizona State

11/15/14:  Northwestern

11/22/14: Louisville

11/29/14: @ USC

Likely losses: @ Florida State, @ USC

Likely wins:  Rice, Navy, Syracuse, North Carolina, Northwestern, Purdue

Toss-ups: Michigan, Stanford, Louisville, @ Arizona State

Yes, you are reading that right… Notre Dame has three “true road games,” with 7 home contests and 2 neutral games.  Give the Fighting Irish credit, Navy and Rice would be a tough OOC slate for Rutgers… and it is Notre Dame’s version of a cupcake.

Anything can happen with the Irish here, but we will go 8.5 on the over/under.
