North Carolina State Football: The Over/Under

This article is the next in a series of articles in which the Confidential selects the over/under for football wins in 2014.  We’ll take a cursory look at the schedule and determine what we think is the point where folks will struggle to select “over” or “under.”  We hope people will share their comments as to “why” they are going over/under.  If you disagree with our over/under choice, of course, feel free to let us know too.  The fifth team up: North Carolina State.  We are going with an over/under of 5.5.

Here is the North Carolina State schedule:

Likely losses: Florida State, @ Clemson, @ Louisville

Likely wins:  Georgia Southern, ODU, South Florida, Presbyterian

Toss-ups: Boston College, @ Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, @ North Carolina

North Carolina State has three rather soft games on the schedule, and South Florida is (pathetically) the “tough” OOC game.  At least it is on the road.  In any event, there is no excuse for another 3-win season.  But there are no gimmes on the schedule beyond that, as the ACC is really starting to accumulate depth.  NC State really could finish anywhere between 3 and 7 wins.  We think a 5.5 over/under, with bowl implications therefore, is appropriate.

What do you think?  Let us know on here or on Twitter @ acconfi.

Other over/unders: Wake Forest (4.5), Virginia (4.5), Notre Dame (8.5), Miami (7.5)
